Les Scarsella (Leslie George Scarsella) was born on November 23, 1913 in Santa Cruz, California. He made his Major League debut on September 15, 1935 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1936, his rookie year, he hit .313 with 3 home runs and 65 RBI. Scarsella played for the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Braves over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that Les Scarsella's best season was 1936, when he hit for a .313 average and knocked in 65 runs.
