LSU Tigers Football Head Coach, Les Miles, announced a little while ago that he will stay as the Head Coach for LSU. His Press Conference, in which he announced his staying, took place less than 3 hours before LSU's game v.s. Tennessee, which is set to kickofff at 4 P.M. ET. Miles said in his Press Conference that he has no intention of leaving LSU.
"Coach Miles and the chancellor have already worked out a contract that they're happy with, but it hasn't been signed yet," Skip Bertman (LSU Athletic Director) said.
Earleir this morning on ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit reported that Miles had accepted the Michigan head coaching position. LSU associate athletic director Herb Vincent said Saturday morning that ESPN reports that Miles had accepted the head coaching position at Michigan were "inaccurate." This may affect LSU's play tonight versus Tennessee, and may cost them the SEC Championship. Miles has been head coach at LSU since 2005. LSU is 32-6 with Miles at the helm, including 22 wins in his first 26 games as coach, and won 11 games in 2005 and 2006.
Miles has a 60-27 overall record in seven seasons as a head coach.
So, if I were him, I would not leave LSU, especially after all the success he's had there. I would have stayed as far away from the Press as possible, because if they here a coach even say he'd consider the job, they will eat you alive. This has been a BIG distraction to everyone associated with the LSU Tigers Football team, and I put the blame on Miles.
