Les Miles Once Again Apologizing

Let’s take a trip back to the future for a moment…Back to the early days of February this year when LSU’s head coach Les Miles made this following statement to almost 5,000 fans at the annual Bayou Recruiting Bash on National Signing Day:
"So five from Texas," Miles said at the conference in reference to his new recruits. We took four from Florida. We took two from Alabama. You bet your ass ... We're looking forward to playing Florida. We're looking forward to playing Auburn, but we have a new rival in fucking Alabama."
What kind of Alabama, Les? At any rate, like all PR nightmares gone bad Miles apologized for what some deemed inappropriate comments. Not because he wanted to, but because the school held a semiautomatic
to his melon forcing him to do so!
"I apologize for the inappropriate remark I made at the Bayou Recruiting Bash last Wednesday," Miles said in the statement to The Daily Reveille. "This was a private booster function that was closed to the working media, but that's no excuse for my remarks. That remark was out of character for me. I got caught up in the emotion of the day and the excitement of the moment, but I should have used better judgment."
I was always under the assumption that the primary function of pep rallies, such as the annual Bayou Recruiting Bash is to get all in attendance all giddy and fired up. Very similar to what goes on in the locker room…A closed-door environment. An environment where words can fly faster than Britney Spears can take off panties! That’s why numskulls shell out thousands of dollars to hear football coaches speak and to attend the functions. However, some dumbass reporter from TigerTV filmed the conference at the Baton Rouge River Center and then the campus channel aired video clips. Wouldn’t have been a lot easier to stab Les in the back, instead? Or coax up a story of him cheating on his wife. Although Miles isn’t exactly Mr. Einstein…For he has shown somehow, some way that he’s related to Jim Harbaugh! Doesn’t know when to shut the pie hole!
With this happening back in February, why did Miles bring it up at the SEC pre-season meetings this past weekend? A contrite Les Miles again apologized for a profane comment he made in February about Alabama. "I did have emotion," Miles said. "And I certainly regret" the choice of words. Jim dandy! Although aren’t pre-season conference meetings held to discuss just that…The upcoming season? So then why is Les rehashing a comment that was supposed to be private from five months ago? A comment that for all intensive purposes he’s not at all sorry he said in the first place. So why back off even more? Why even bring this up again? Could it have something to do with him feeling the noose getting tighter and tighter everyday that goes by until that trip to Tusculosa on Nov. 3? Feeling the pressure of Tiger nation on his shoulders of having to beat the coach that burned his bridges by leaving the Bayou in the first place and then returning to the same conference in the neighboring state. Feeling that he’s worthy of holding the LSU head coaching position…Feeling that he has to prove it’s something that he earned instead of falling into after Saban’s departure to Miami. Something that he has already proven is he sure knows how to use his cake hole to get his friction on with. Nick Saban and Pete Carroll have accomplished a hell of a lot more than you, so why bark at the big dogs?
Yes, Les Miles is indeed on the Budweiser Hot Seat this season…So many expectations in Baton Rouge and yet he seems to always be saying the wrong things. "I am not in any way derogatory toward Alabama," Miles said. "I look forward to competing with them and their coach." You say all this now…Just wonder what kind of tune you’ll be singing after the first Saturday of November upon returning home to "Death Valley" from Sabanville?
