Les Caywood (Lester Leroy Caywood) was born on August 18, 1903 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Sapulpa (OK), Caywood attended St. John's University. Caywood made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Buffalo Rangers. He played for the New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati-St. Louis Reds-Gunners, Detroit wolverines, Pottsville Maroons and Buffalo Rangers over the course of his 9 year career.
