Les Bell (Lester Rowland Bell) was born on December 14, 1901 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 18, 1923 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1925, his rookie year, he hit .285 with 11 home runs and 88 RBI. Bell played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Boston Braves and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Les Bell's best season was 1926, when he slugged 17 home runs, hit for a .325 average and knocked in 100 runs.
