Born on July 8, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona, Lerrin LaGrow (Lerrin Harris LaGrow) played for the Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 10 year career. LaGrow broke into the bigs on July 28, 1970 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.33 ERA in 54 innings pitched in 1973, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lerrin LaGrow's best season was 1977, when he posted a 2.46 ERA, notched 25 saves and struck out 63 batters.
