Leroy Sledge (Leroy James Sledge) was born on October 11, 1946 in Richmond, Virginia. After going to high school at Maggie L. Walker (Richmond, VA), Sledge attended Bakersfield JC. Sledge made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Houston Oilers. He played for the Houston Oilers for his entire 1 year career.
