Leon Culberson (Delbert Leon Culberson) was born on August 6, 1919 in Hall's Station, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on May 16, 1943 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1943, his rookie year, he hit .272 with 3 home runs and 34 RBI. Culberson played for the Boston Red Sox and Washington Senators over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Leon Culberson's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .275 average.
