Born on September 28, 1902 in Pittsfield, New Hampshire, Leon Chagnon (Leon Wilbur Chagnon) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants over the course of his 6 year career. Chagnon broke into the bigs on October 5, 1929 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 6.82 ERA in 62 innings pitched in 1930, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Leon Chagnon's best season was 1932, when he posted a 3.94 ERA and struck out 52 batters.
