Leo Sanford (Ottis Leo Sanford) was born on October 4, 1929 in Dallas, Texas. After going to high school at Fair Park (Shreveport, LA), Sanford attended Louisiana Institute of Technology. Sanford made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals and Baltimore Colts over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1955 was Leo Sanford's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
