Born on May 24, 1896 in Durham, North Carolina, Leo Mangum (Leo Allan Mangum) played for the Chicago White Sox, New York Giants and Boston Braves over the course of his 7 year career. Mangum broke into the bigs on July 11, 1924 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.32 ERA in 84 innings pitched in 1933, his rookie year.
