Lem Harkey (Lemuel Harkey, Jr.) was born on January 7, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Douglass (Lawton, OK), Harkey attended Emporia State University. Harkey made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers for his entire 1 year career.
