Leinart impressive in debut against da Bears

Matt Leinart quickly atoned for the lost time due to his contract dispute. The 10th pick in the draft went 15-21 for 144 yards and a TD pass. I'm sure Cardinal fans must be salivating at the moment. He had a stretch in which he completed 12 consecutive passes. Apparently he was so comfortable with the offense that he asked Dennis Green to "call anything" in the playbook. If Leinart's performance on Friday was just a sample of what's to come, the future of the Cardinals is in very good hands. Having Kurt Warner to ease the transistion for Leinart only makes things better. The Cardinals' QB situation is in good hands.

As for the Bears however...................

Always good to see the Bears struggle. And good to see the Cardinals do well for a change - even if it was preseason. Just remember about possession rules with Cardinals'...

Is it just me or is the bigger story the fact that the Bears fans are turning on Rex Grossman before he even starts a regular season game?

That's to be expected. Chicago is one of a few sports cities that are just waiting for the chance to find a reason to jump off a bridge (or throw someone off it). They turn quickly on qb's (Grossman), they turn on players before they've even done anything (Benson), and they find any reason to make it seem like things are worse than they are (Derrek Lee got hurt, must be the curse).

Sounds good... Too bad there aree more Bears fans in Arizona than Cardinals fans. More Packers fans, more Steelers fans, More Eagles fans, more Vikings fans, more Raiders fans, more Montreal Alouettes fans, more Memphis Showboats fans, etc and so forth ad nauseum ONE 9-7 season and ONE 8-8 season since they moved here in '88.

In all seriousness, dude can play - remember all the way back to last year when everyone was talking about him being a lock #1 pick if he wouldn't have stayed for impending Heisman #2. Kurt Warner is a perfect mentor, a guy throws with pinpoint accuracy, even when it looks like a wounded duck. Great WRs and EDGE (someone we're TRULY excited to have) will make him even better... maybe JJ Arrington can contribute... bwaah ha ha haa haaaa haaaaaa!!! (good one, Man E)

Didn't the Cardinals used to be Chicago Cardinals? I thought they lost a game against the Bears, and the Bears won the right to stay in Chicago. And as a result, the Cardinals started their World Tour. That's right isn't it? If so, CHI-ARI should be more of a rivalry you'd imagine.

BTW this game wasn't Leinart's debut. He wasn't impressive at all in THAT game.

The Bears fans are booing Grossman and cheering for Griese. But considering Grossman hasn't played a full season yet due to injury, the Bears fans should have more patience. However, Bears fans have high expectations and don't want the team to completely depend on the defense. Thus, Grossman is on the hot seat unfortunately.
