Honestly…Leinart should know better. Any valley resident knows EXACTLY where the cameras are (you can see them 100 yards away). In fact, I pass four cameras each and everyday between work and back.

Maybe Leinart should start using his QB skills for driving. I mean, if he can execute game winning drives 100 yards down the field, maybe he could hit the breaks a little????

Errrr…screw that - “To the police station, and beyond!”

But the part that hurts the most for Leinart is the serious damage these tickets will do to his wallet: > > Leinart paid a $157 fine for driving 56 mph hour in a 45 mph zone, going eastbound on Shea Boulevard at 90th Street, on June 18.

I know it hurts….How will Leinart EVER financially recover?

…its a bummer…this could effect him on the field…

Speed trap cameras are the worse idea ever. I know how much it sucks to get caught by one. This time I actually feel bad for Leinart

Yeah, but if you live in the area they are huge and obvious, especially on the highway. Its the minivans in Scottsdale that are the worst. They put those things behind trees and walls.

They are obvious everywhere. The ones in DC are huge and they even paint lines on the ground for them. But that doesnt make it easy to drop your speed quickly sometimes.

Yeah, enforcing laws is the worst.

That's the problem Seepie, there is NO ONE enforcing these laws, they're relying on technology instead of manpower. Scottsdale knows that these cameras are a slight to your civil liberties but they also know they're a cash cow with no one knowing that you SHOULD fight every single ticket. I know several people who have been ticketed wrongly AND had the fines dropped. The cameras don't know WHO is speeding when two cars go through at different speeds or change lanes. Cameras shouldn't enforce laws, people should (they DO have an officer in each of the camera vans to verify, but not at the standing cameras. They put the cameras on the 101 to slow people down from crashing (yet people still crash on the wide open roads and during clear sunny weather) and causing backups, now everyone slows down at all the cameras and causes backups... ridiculous, yet typical local government mismanagement - again it's all about revenue and harassing the citizens.

It's good to see the USA and Britain have things in common... Speed cameras do not save lives as claimed as more people have to worry about slowing down. Over here though speeding is 3 points on your driving licence (12 is a ban from driving). We have the trees and walls problems, but also, the cameras over here have a habit of being on downhills, so you can't help but go slightly quicker than normal due to the fact your going downhill.

Also, in Britain, a random fact for you, if you go faster than 177mph, the camera won't recognise the car, you'll be out of range before the picture is taken!

And we have tons of unenforcable laws too... And yes Manny, it's about money, of course.

It's getting to the stage where George Orwell was right, albeit 23 years to late...
