Born on November 1, 1892 in West Fork, Arkansas, Lefty York (James Edward York) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 2 year career. York broke into the bigs on September 12, 1919 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 4.73 ERA in 139 innings pitched in 1921, his rookie year.
