Born on July 1, 1889 in Glen Roy, Ohio, Lefty James (William A. James) played for the Cleveland Naps for his entire 3 year career. James broke into the bigs on April 13, 1912 with the Cleveland Naps, and put up a 3.20 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.
