Born on September 15, 1929 in Edwardsville, Illinois, Lee Wheat (Leroy William Wheat) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 2 year career. Wheat broke into the bigs on April 21, 1954 with the Philadelphia Athletics.
