Born on July 5, 1866 in Corinth, Vermont, Lee Viau (Leon A. Viau) played for the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Spiders, Louisville Colonels and Boston Beaneaters over the course of his 5 year career. Viau broke into the bigs on April 22, 1888 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 2.65 ERA in 387.2 innings pitched in 1888, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lee Viau's best season was 1888, when he posted a 2.65 ERA, won 27 games and struck out 164 batters.
