Lee McElwee (Leland Stanford McElwee) was born on May 23, 1894 in La Mesa, California. He made his Major League debut on July 3, 1916 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1916, his rookie year, he hit .265 with 0 home runs and 10 RBI. McElwee played for the Philadelphia Athletics for his entire 1 year career.
