Lee Maye (Arthur Lee Maye) was born on December 11, 1934 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on July 17, 1959 for the Milwaukee Braves. In 1959, his rookie year, he hit .300 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI. Maye played for the Milwaukee Braves, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Lee Maye's best season was 1964, when he hit for a .304 average and knocked in 74 runs.
