Born on October 23, 1907 in Sherman, Texas, Lee Grissom (Lee Theo Grissom) played for the Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 8 year career. Grissom broke into the bigs on September 2, 1934 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 3.26 ERA in 223.2 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lee Grissom's best season was 1937, when he posted a 3.26 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 149 batters.
