Born on January 18, 1931 in Vaughan, Mississippi, Laurin Pepper (Hugh McLaurin Pepper) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 4 year career. Pepper broke into the bigs on July 4, 1954 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 7.99 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.
