Laurie Walquist (Lawrence Wilfred Walquist) was born on March 9, 1898 in Rockford, Illinois. After going to high school at Central (Rockford, IL) and Evanston Township (IL), Walquist attended the University of Illinois. Walquist made his professional debut in the NFL in 1922 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 9 year career.
