Born on October 4, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan, Lary Sorensen (Lary Alan Sorensen) played for the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians, Oakland Athletics, Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 11 year career. Sorensen broke into the bigs on June 7, 1977 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 4.36 ERA in 142.1 innings pitched in 1977, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Lary Sorensen's best season was 1978, when he posted a 3.21 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 78 batters.
