Larry Woods (Larry Dobie Woods) was born on May 11, 1948 in Rogersville, Alabama. After going to high school at Rogersville (AL), Woods attended Tennessee State University. Woods made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks and Miami Dolphins over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1972 was Larry Woods's best year.
