Larry Twitchell (Lawrence Grant Twitchell) was born on February 18, 1864 in Cleveland, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on April 30, 1886 for the Detroit Wolverines. In 1887, his rookie year, he hit .333 with 0 home runs and 51 RBI. Twitchell played for the Detroit Wolverines, Cleveland Spiders, Cleveland Infants, Buffalo Bisons, Columbus Colts, Washington Senators and Louisville Colonels over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Larry Twitchell's best season was 1889, when he hit for a .275 average and knocked in 95 runs.
