Born on July 25, 1935 in Los Angeles, California, Larry Sherry (Lawrence Sherry) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros and California Angels over the course of his 11 year career. Sherry broke into the bigs on April 17, 1958 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 2.19 ERA in 94.1 innings pitched in 1959, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Larry Sherry's best season was 1966, when he posted a 3.82 ERA, notched 20 saves and struck out 63 batters.
