Lawrence M. Kelley, born on May 30, 1915, became college football's second winner of the Heisman Trophy in 1936. He caught 15 touchdown passes for Yale, including the team's only score in a 7-0 victory over Princeton that year.
Years later, he sold his Heisman for $325,110 to benefit his nieces and nephews. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on June 27, 2000.
