Born on June 2, 1931 in Nampa, Idaho, Larry Jackson (Lawrence Curtis Jackson) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 14 year career. Jackson broke into the bigs on April 17, 1955 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.31 ERA in 177.1 innings pitched in 1955, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Larry Jackson's best season was 1964, when he posted a 3.14 ERA, won 24 games and struck out 148 batters.
