Larry Franklin (Larry Darnell Franklin) was born on August 2, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee. After going to high school at Hamilton (Memphis, TN), Franklin attended Jackson State University. Franklin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1978 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his entire 1 year career.
