Larry Doyle (Lawrence Joseph Doyle) was born on July 31, 1886 in Caseyville, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on July 22, 1907 for the New York Giants. In 1907, his rookie year, he hit .260 with 0 home runs and 16 RBI. Doyle played for the New York Giants and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 14 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Larry Doyle's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1912, when he stole 36 bases, hit for a .330 average and knocked in 90 runs. However, others believe that it was 1911, when he stole 38 bases, hit for a .310 average and knocked in 77 runs.
