[edit] Biography

Larry Doby (Lawrence Eugene Doby) was born on December 13, 1923 in Camden, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on July 5, 1947 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1948, his rookie year, he hit .301 with 14 home runs and 66 RBI. Doby played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 13 year career.
