Born on August 10, 1859 in Brooklyn, New York, Larry Corcoran (Lawrence J. Corcoran) played for the Chicago White Stockings, New York Gothams, Washington Senators and Indianapolis Hoosiers over the course of his 8 year career. Corcoran broke into the bigs on May 1, 1880 with the Chicago White Stockings, and put up a 1.95 ERA in 536.1 innings pitched in 1880, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Larry Corcoran's best season was 1880, when he posted a 1.95 ERA, won 43 games and struck out 268 batters.
