Larry Cole (Larry Rudolph Cole) was born on November 15, 1946 in Clarkfield, Minnesota. After going to high school at Granite Falls (MN), Cole attended United States Air Force Academy, the University of Hawaii and the University of Houston. Cole made his professional debut in the NFL in 1968 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys for his entire 13 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Larry Cole's best year, as he ran back an interception for a touchdown and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
