[edit] Biography
Lawrence "Larry" Brown was a running back who played in the NFL for the Washington Redskins. In his rookie season, Redskin coach, Vince Lombardi noticed that Brown was getting off late on the snap count. He ordered tests which revealed a hearing problem. A transmitter was installed in his helmets so that he could hear the snap called by quarterback Sonny Jurgensen. This change allowed Brown to have a productive career which included 2 thousand yard seasons. He led the league in rushing in 1972 with 1,216 yards. In 1973 he led the league in touchdowns with 14.
