Born on May 6, 1953 in Portland, Oregon, Larry Andersen (Larry Eugene Andersen) played for the Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres over the course of his 17 year career. Andersen broke into the bigs on September 5, 1975 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 2.66 ERA in 67.2 innings pitched in 1981, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Larry Andersen's best season was 1990, when he posted a 1.79 ERA and struck out 93 batters.

Larry currently does broadcasting for Philadelphia Phillies games, both on the radio and television.
