The Lakers and Vladimir Radmanovich have agreed to a five year deal while the Clippers and Tim Thomas have agreed to a four year deal.
The acquisition of Radmanovich probably means that Devean George will not return to the team. This is what I expected. Radmanovich should be a starter and play like a poor man's Peja Stojakovich. This means Sasha Vujacic and Brian Cook will still remain on the bench. I think Radmanovich is the best player of George, Vujacic, and Cook, but the team still needs more reliable guys off the bench. Overall, a good replacement for George, but the team needs more depth from the bench. Hopefully, the team will make more quality moves like this one considering they still need to find a veteran point guard.
After scorching Los Angeles with big shots, Tim Thomas is headed to the Clippers. The Phoenix Suns obviously did not have enough money to keep him even though he complemented the team well. Thomas adds more size to the frontcourt, making a trio composed of Thomas, Elton Brand, and Chris Kaman. Unlike the latter two, Thomas will stretch defenses like Radmanovich did. However, after his playoff performance, he now commands a lot of attention. Overall, a good move for the Clippers because Thomas shoots as well as Radmanovich and can play defense, which Radmanovich isn't known for.
