Kyle Snyder

Born on September 9, 1977 in Houston, Texas, Kyle Snyder (Kyle Ehren Snyder) played for the Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 3 year career. Snyder broke into the bigs on May 1, 2003 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 5.17 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched in 2003, his rookie year.

Snyder has a sinking fastball that sits at 88-90 and tops out at 92. He also throws a big, slow curveball around 68-72 mph. He will sometimes use a slider and a changeup. He misses his spots a lot, leaving balls up in the zone and that usually turns into some pretty sharp hit balls. But he does strike out an above average number of batters and while his control is far from impeccable, he keeps his walk total down. When he's on, he'll induce a lot of groundballs and strike out a few batters. When he's not on, he'll get hammered. We often see both of those in the same game, sometimes even in the same inning.
