Kind of Sad

This is kind of a sad story. It's sad because America can be sad sometimes. The other day, I watched a documentary on Hank Aaron on ESPN. It was originally made by Tom Brokaw for NBC in 1973, so it lacked the stupidity that ESPN documentaries entail. Part of the doc focused on the threats Aaron received as he neared 714. They showed pictures of some of the letters. Suffice it to say, the N word was used quite frequently.
I just can't imagine someone taking the time to write a letter or do some other threatening thing toward Ian Johnson or his fiance or Hank Aaron, or anyone just because they're not white. I just don't get why someone would care so much.
If you hate another race, that's your right. I think racism shows ignorance, but everyone in this country has the right to an opinion. Personally, I don't like people from Connecticut. And I certainly don't like people from New York. But let's say that I HATED people from CT and NY. I'd rather waste my time writing about sports, or twiddling my thumbs, as opposed to telling New Yorkers how much I hate them. They don't care that I dislike them. And I don't care that they don't care that I dislike them.
I mean, don't these people have lives? They are such losers, that in order to make themselves feel superior, they have to write letters to some guy from California, who plays football in Idaho, and is marrying a cheerleader, telling him that what he is doing is wrong.
Simply pathetic.
Who the hell cares about who marries who? I've seen weddings (in my own family) that I felt were wrong, or stupid, or didn't have a good shot at making it. But I didn't say a single word. Because it isn't my place to tell people who they should or shouldn't marry. It's nobody's place.
