Kid Elberfeld (Norman Arthur Elberfeld) was born on April 13, 1875 in Pomeroy, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on May 30, 1898 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1899, his rookie year, he hit .261 with 0 home runs and 22 RBI. Elberfeld played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, New York Highlanders, Washington Senators and Brooklyn Superbas over the course of his 14 year career.

Most people believe that Kid Elberfeld's best season was 1901, when he hit for a .308 average and knocked in 76 runs.
