Kevin Garnett needs to pull an Iverson right now

Ever since I started writing for the best blog in the history of the information superhighway, I have consistently called for Kevin Garnett to dump the Timberpuppies and head for higher ground. In the wake of Allen Iverson's departure and Minnesota's absolute failure at notching which would have instantly been the most talented teammate Garnett has ever had: I'm renewing the call.
It's clear to me that the Timberwolves don't know the meaning of the word "leverage". Every team that dealt with the Sixers immediately had leverage on them due to their furious attempt to get rid of him. The T-Wolves could have realistically gotten Iverson and only had to give up Ricky Davis, Mark Blount and one first round pick.
But let's keep in mind what franchise we're talking about. The same franchise that could have drafted Ray Allen. The same franchise that didn't keep Sam Cassell and who Latrell Sprewell scampered away from never to be seen again.
Meanwhile Garnett is left to fend for himself, having to be forced to push himself into 5th gear every single night and have at least 20 and 10 for the T-Wolves to have a chance. With Iverson on the trading block, I thought what I'm sure every Minnesota fan thought of : Here's a golden opportunity for Minnesota to proclaim their loyalty to Garnett by deed rather than word.
Opportunity knocked on Minnesota's door and was denied access.
Again!!
To make matters worse, Iverson landed on a team in the same division as the Timberpuppies, which means Kevin Garnett will have to be forced to look at the Nuggets sideline and be reminded of what would have been, could have been and should have been.
Kevin Garnett garners tremoundous praise from me as well as a bunch of others for his unparalled loyalty especially in an age in which that trait is very limited in all circles. But he must realize that the Timberpuppies are as cheap as a quarter water at the corner store. And if this franchise thinks that it can compete in the powerful Western conference without a significant upgrade in a mediocre roster, then they also must think that Britney Spears can sing as well.
There's a reason why throughout this article and others I have referred to Minnesota as the Timberpuppies. With the lack of aggression on the court by every player except Garnett and the lack of aggression in pursuing significant upgrades such as Iverson, I cannot in good conscience possibly call this franchise by it's standard name. A wolf aggressively stalks his prey with reckless abandon on a consistent basis. This franchise runs away from adversity and change like.....puppies.
Despite his troublesome nature, Iverson showed a great deal of loyalty to the 76ers and insisted on staying even when they were trying to trade him away. But he finally realized that there wasn't a light at the end of the tunnel. Garnett must come to the same conclusion at some time.
And that time is now.
