Kettle Wirts (Elwood Vernon Wirts) was born on October 30, 1897 in Cosumnes, California. He made his Major League debut on July 20, 1921 for the Chicago Cubs. Wirts played for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 4 year career.
