Born on November 14, 1968 in Portland, Oregon, Kent Bottenfield (Kent Dennis Bottenfield) played for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Anaheim Angels and Houston Astros over the course of his 9 year career. Bottenfield broke into the bigs on July 6, 1992 with the Montreal Expos, and put up a 5.07 ERA in 159.2 innings pitched in 1993, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Kent Bottenfield's best season was 1999, when he posted a 3.97 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 124 batters.
