Kenny Thompson (Kenneth Wayne Thompson) was born on December 6, 1958 in Snyder, Texas. After going to high school at Snyder (TX), Thompson attended Mesa Community College, Utah State University and West Texas A&M University. Thompson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1982 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1983 was Kenny Thompson's best year.
