Ken Wood (Kenneth Lanier Wood) was born on July 1, 1924 in Lincolnton, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 28, 1948 for the St. Louis Browns. In 1950, his rookie year, he hit .225 with 13 home runs and 62 RBI. Wood played for the St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Ken Wood's best season was 1950, when he knocked in 62 runs.
