Born on July 8, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, Ken Sanders (Kenneth George Sanders) played for the Kansas City Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Indians, California Angels, New York Mets and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 10 year career. Sanders broke into the bigs on August 6, 1964 with the Kansas City Athletics, and put up a 3.75 ERA in 112.2 innings pitched in 1966, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ken Sanders's best season was 1971, when he posted a 1.91 ERA, notched 31 saves and struck out 80 batters.
