Ken Phelps (Kenneth Allen Phelps) was born on August 6, 1954 in Seattle, Washington. He made his Major League debut on September 20, 1980 for the Kansas City Royals. In 1984, his rookie year, he hit .241 with 24 home runs and 51 RBI. Phelps played for the Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Oakland Athletics and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 10 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Ken Phelps's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1987, when he slugged 27 home runs and knocked in 68 runs. However, others believe that it was 1986, when he slugged 24 home runs and knocked in 64 runs.
