Ken Mercer (Kenneth Ernest Mercer) was born on June 9, 1903 in Albia, Iowa. After going to high school at Albia (IA), Mercer attended Simpson College. Mercer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1927 with the Frankford Yellow Jackets. He played for the Frankford Yellow Jackets for his entire 3 year career.
