Ken Harrelson (Kenneth Smith Harrelson) was born on September 4, 1941 in Woodruff, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on June 9, 1963 for the Kansas City Athletics. In 1963, his rookie year, he hit .230 with 6 home runs and 23 RBI. Harrelson played for the Kansas City Athletics, Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 9 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Ken Harrelson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1968, when he slugged 35 home runs, hit for a .275 average and knocked in 109 runs. However, others believe that it was 1969, when he slugged 30 home runs and knocked in 92 runs.
