Born on September 8, 1946 in Sacramento, California, Ken Forsch (Kenneth Roth Forsch) played for the Houston Astros and California Angels over the course of his 16 year career. Forsch broke into the bigs on September 7, 1970 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 2.53 ERA in 188.1 innings pitched in 1971, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ken Forsch's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1976, when he posted a 2.15 ERA and notched 19 saves. However, others believe that it was 1971, when he posted a 2.53 ERA and struck out 131 batters.
